Maple Pecan Scones

Scone Ingredients

  • New Hope Mills Scone Mix
  • 1/4 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup Pecans

Icing Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Pure Maple Syrup
  • 2 Tbsp Heavy Cream
  • 1 Tsp Maple Extract
  • 1 1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar

Directions

Follow New Hope Mills Scone Mix recipe as directed, except add 1/4 Tsp Vanilla to the wet ingredients and 1 Tsp Cinnamon to the dry ingredients (prior to mixing).  Add 1/2 Cup Pecans to the dough before kneading.  Let scones cool before adding icing.

For the Icing: In a saucepan, add 1/4 Cup Butter, 1/4 Cup Pure Maple Syrup, and 2 Tbsp Heavy Cream. Heat until butter is melted and combined, stirring occasionally. Stir in 1 Tsp Maple Extract.  Slowly whisk in 1 1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar, adding only 1/4 Cup at a time. Whisk until smooth, then let cool for a few minutes before topping scones. Drizzle on scones, add a few pecans on top if desired, and enjoy!
