Gingerbread Cutout Cookies

  1. In a medium bowl combine all the ingredients.
  2. Form the dough into two disks and wrap individually in plastic. Cool in refrigerator for 2 hours.
  3. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Unwrap firm, cooled dough, and place on a floured surface.
  4. Let the dough warm for about 5 minutes for easier rolling, then carefully roll out.
  5. Cut out shapes and place cookies on a baking sheet (parchment recommended). Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. Cool for 1-2 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring cookies to a wire rack.
  7. After completely cooled, frost and decorate if desired.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
