Pumpkin Doughnuts

Pumpkin donuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup New Hope Mills Pumpkin Spice Pancake Mix
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Frying oil (as much as you need. About 1 inch deep at least in whatever pan you use)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oil in a pan to 350 degrees (should have at least an inch of oil to fry doughnuts in)
  2. Combine Pumpkin Spice Pancake Mix, brown Sugar, egg and water.
  3. Using a tablespoon carefully drop dough into preheated oil, let cook until outside is nicely browned all the way around. (do not let the oil overheat as it will cause the outside to be cooked and leave the inside raw)
  4. Remove to a bowl or plate (lined with paper towels) to cool.
  5. Once cool, drizzle or dunk the doughnuts with maple glaze.

Maple Glaze:

  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp milk
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • pinch of salt

Whisk together all ingredients until no sugar clumps remain.

Hi Rick, You would need a donut cutter. It looks like a round biscuit cutter that has two circles. Once you press it down over the dough you’re left with two circles, one larger circle with a hole in the middle and one small round donut made from the hole the cutter created for you. We made the donuts in the photo using our donut machine, which has an automated dropper to form the donuts.
